Pastor Jerry Higdon has been serving our church since December 2015, and has been a Baptist minister since 2003. He strongly recognizes and teaches the Inspired, Infallible and Living Word of God. Jerry recently retired as a Project Manager for John Deere. He also retired from civil service at the Rock Island Arsenal, and from the military with twenty years of service to our country. He and his wife Amy and children reside in Coal Valley, IL.
What led you to become a pastor? “God called me into ministry while serving with a local church in Coal Valley. As I learned about Christ, I was inspired by His compassion, intelligence and candor. The more I served and learned, the more motivated I was to follow in His footsteps. I grew up in the middle of Detroit, served in the military and traveled the world over. I love all God’s people, regardless of their social or economic background. God leads me each day now and I strive to reach out to others for His glory and purpose.” Life verse John 3:30
“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”
