2017-12-17 – Galatians 4.4-7 – Hallelujah Joy

But when the right time came, the time God decided on, he sent his Son, born of a woman, born as a Jew, to buy freedom for us who were slaves  the law so that he could adopt us as his very own sons. And because we are his sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, so now we can rightly speak of God as our dear Father. Now we are no longer slaves but God’s own sons. And since we are his sons, everything he has belongs to us, for that is the way God planned.

Good morning everyone. It is so nice to be able to spend some time with you all in fellowship with the Lord. Thank you and God bless you for being with us today.

As we prepare for Christmas, we have been going through series that is meant to condition our heart. The last few weeks the messages were Hope and Peace, and today’s experience is about Joy and we enjoyed this beautiful children’s program. Next week will be the final presentation in the series, and it will be about Love. So we have Hope, Peace, Joy, Love from Father God. I pray you consider this time of reflection and preparation for the coming savior Jesus at Christmas.
I also want to remind you that we will be having a brief Christmas-Eve candle-light service at 5 p.m. next Sunday. Please invite a neighbor to join us.

In Galatians 4:4-7, of our Bible which is the Inspired, Infallible and Living Word of God, the Apostle Paul wrote these words about Jesus being born:

But when the right time came, the time God decided on, he sent his Son, born of a woman, born as a Jew, to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law so that he could adopt us as his very own sons. And because we are his sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, so now we can rightly speak of God as our dear Father. Now we are no longer slaves but God’s own sons. And since we are his sons, everything he has belongs to us, for that is the way God planned.

Again, today’s theme is on Joy. And the children today gave us a wonderful program called Hallelujah, A Savior is Born. As Christian believers, this fact has to bring us joy. So I want to say a few words about Paul’s message here in Galatians as it relates to the reason for the joy that we should have.

Timing – Paul said at the Right Time, God decided to send Jesus.

Through Jesus God took us from being Slaves to being free.

God gave us His Holy Spirit as a promise of our future

Another reason for our Joy is that we have been adopted by God as His sons and daughters, and heirs to His thrown, He wants to give us everything.

We can now have Hope, Peace, and Joy because we are free and we are promised an eternal home in heaven.
